Want YOUR makeup To Make your skin look NOT tired, NOT dull, NOT blotchy or NOT itchy? Tired of Not knowing exactly what YOU are putting on YOUR Face? Don’t like wearing makeup because it doesn’t look natural or makes your skin feel heavy? READ on....... Then let me introduce you to the wonderful, exciting world of minerals... Our main ingredients are: - Titanium Dioxide: An opaque, white mineral that is used for its light-reflecting capabilities offering a full spectrum sunshield from both UVA and UVB rays.
- Mica: A common mineral that can add luster and a silky texture to a shadow or foundation.
- Iron Oxides: Natural mineral pigments that give our makeup its beautiful colours as well as its long wearing quality.
- Zinc Oxide: A healing mineral that assists in reducing inflammation and provides a full spectrum sunshield from both UVA and UVB rays.
And may contain: - Ultramarine Blue: A clay that has been heated to a very high temperature which is a process that was used by the Egyptians. They achieved both blue and yellow pigments using this technique.
- Ferric Ferrocyanide: A synthetic, non-irritating blue pigment used to coat mica.
- Kaolin Clay: A soft clay insoluble in water, used for oil-absorption. Assists in removing old sebum that is clogged in pores.
- Serecite: Purified, untreated, uncoated mica.
- Silica: Derived from sand but finely ground to help absorb oil and give the skin a smooth appearance.
Safe and non-toxic these minerals are free of irritants such as talc, bismuth oxychloride, dyes, parabens, mineral oil, lakes, carmine, synthetic fragrance, methylparaben, propylparaben and many other questionable chemicals. Minerals are the most natural makeup you can use. They occur naturally and have been crushed into tiny particles and blended together to form beautiful colours for you to apply to your face. Here are some of the benefits of wearing minerals: - Only a small amount is needed each time you apply so it’s very economical for those with small budgets. A full size pot can last you between six months to a full year. The packaging can also be refilled so you don’t need to throw it out.
- It is water resistant which makes it perfect for swimmers. Some coverage may be lost, just pat dry gently and if necessary, rebuff.
- None of our ingredients or products are tested on animals.
- Won’t irritate your skin if you have sensitive, acne or dermatitis prone skin.
- The ingredients are not absorbed by the skin but actually adhere to it so you have perfect coverage all day and the knowledge it won’t build up in your body organs.
- Oily skin benefits from using minerals as it does not dry out the skin creating overactive sebaceous glands which lead to further breakouts. Non-acnegenic, it does not clog pores and you can even sleep in it!
- It is so light weight you won’t even notice you are wearing it and you can apply exactly how much you need to ensure you have the coverage you desire.
- Because of how the minerals layer it is able to: even out skin tone, cover acne, acne scarring, rosacea, age spots, spider veins etc.
- We use non-organic, inert materials in our products which mean bacteria, mould or fungus will not grow, extending the shelf life far beyond most other forms of makeup.
- It is the only cosmetic that can be used on your skin after plastic/facial surgery, dermabrasion or skin resurfacing and because it is so gentle on all skins it is recommended by many people the world over.
- There are many different ways of application, wet, dry or a combination of both, using a variety of different brushes or sponges.
- Because it is light and comes in small packaging you won’t need to carry awkward bottles around anymore.
What is loose mineral cosmetics?Essentially, loose mineral cosmetics, also called bare mineral makeup, is comprised of naturally occurring minerals that have been used for cosmetic purposes for thousands of years. These minerals are mined from around the world, purified, and crushed into fine powders. Why loose? It is the most natural makeup available on the market. Just think about how your face feels when you apply a liquid foundation. In order to create a liquid foundation, manufacturers add water, oil, waxes, petrochemicals, synthetic humectants, gums, and fillers (like talc) to the mineral colorants. They also add dyes and preservatives. Our loose, dry minerals don't require preservatives, and all of those other irritating ingredients are completely unnecessary. The natural pigments blend easily on the skin and provide superior coverage due to the lack of cheap fillers. Will my skin break out?If you have sensitive skin, and have had bad experiences with cosmetics in the past, then natural mineral makeup is for you. While even a good quality natural cosmetic does not carry a guarantee, the likelihood of a reaction is rare. The most irritating ingredients in cosmetics are talc, dye, and perfume. Our products are free of all of these ingredients. What about a sunscreen? One of the main ingredients in our loose mineral foundation is micronized Titanium Dioxide. This naturally occurring mineral effectively blocks both UVA and UVB rays, without an irritating chemical sunscreen. Our products have a very high SPF and we recommend wearing a sunscreen of some form on your face every day. IngredientsWe include ingredients that are either beneficial or benign that make our skin look softer and prettier, our eyes brighter, and our lips more smooth. We do not use ingredients whose sole purpose is to improve the look or texture of the product in the jar. So if our liners look handmade, or our powders not so silky as Brand X, that's okay with us! Our mission is to: - Help our customers look and feel prettier in a natural way.
- Protect their skin from sun damage and pollution.
- Rejuvenate and restore damaged skin, as well as keep it soft and hydrated.
- Avoid toxic or irritating ingredients, even natural ones.
- Create long-wearing, wearable cosmetic products that make beauty rituals simpler, and fewer for busy women.
The ingredients that we exclude are: dyes, lakes, carmine, synthetic fragrance, talc, bismuth oxychloride, petroleum derivatives, sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate, methylparaben, propylparaben, UREA, and others. Before you begin appling makeup, you need to prepare your skin: - Start with a clean, dry face.
- Apply moisturiser. Moisturiser helps the minerals adhere to the skin to aid in a longer wear. If you have oily skin, this may be an unnecessary step.
- Allow the moisturiser approximately 3-5 minutes to soak in to your skin.
Mineral FoundationOur original loose mineral foundation formula offers excellent coverage with a slight dewey effect. Our concealer-foundation formula has concentrated levels of zinc in order to reduce inflammation caused by acne or rosacea. This formula is matte to the eye, but creamy to the touch, with superior coverage. Loose mineral foundation is the purest, most natural-looking form of foundation available. When applied sparingly, and with the correct brush, your face will appear flawless, yet as close the look of real skin as possible. Don't be surprised at the comments you will receive from friends and family. Loose Mineral Concealer-Foundation formula offers more coverage than our traditional foundation formula for acne and rosasea sufferers. Its feel is creamier; the finish more matte. High in zinc oxide, it is beneficial to inflamed and irritated skin. Brush for applying Foundation: - Kabuki Brush : a short handled domed head brush with soft bristles (looks like a man’s shaving cream brush) that gives a soft application for a sheer finish.
- Flat Topped Bronzer : a long handled flat topped head brush with soft bristles that gives a medium to heavy coverage.
- Taklon Brush : a synthetic brush used mainly for concealing. You can pick one up from your nearest art store.
- Foundation Brush : like a flat top but with a domed head. Great for applying finishing powder.
There are many ways to apply foundation, using a flat top or kabuki brush here are just a few examples: Example 1 - Put the bristles of your brush against the open sifter jar.
- Tip the jar upside down and tap once to load your brush. Remember you only need a small amount.
- Tap the bristles against the sifter jar so the excess falls off the brush back into the jar to be used next time.
- Using a small dish (if no dish is available use the lid off the sifter jar) swirl the brush around the dish and tap against the rim as above to remove any excess.
- In small, gentle yet firm circles, move the brush against your skin (this is called buffing) starting by the ear and working towards the nose.
- This is to help ensure a concentration of the minerals does not get trapped in any fine lines or pores and to aid in achieving a smoother appearance.
- Reload your brush in the same manner and do the other cheek. Do the same for your chin and forehead.
- You will normally only need to go over your face twice (this is called layering). To help match your shade you could use a lighter colour on your first layer followed by a slightly darker one on your second.
Example 2 - Load your brush in the previously mentioned manner only before you apply it to your skin; give your brush a quick misting with water or your favourite facial spray. This gives it more coverage and a nice healthy glow.
- Continue to apply to your skin as normal.
Example 3 - Tap some minerals into the palm of your hand or a little mixing dish.
- Add a drop or two of your favourite moisturiser.
- Mix the two until a nice creamy paste is achieved.
- Using either a taklon brush, flocked sponge or your fingers apply to your skin and blend.
- Apply a little extra to cover any blemishes or darkly circled eyes.
Example 4 If your skin is too sensitive to the buffing method simply use a flat top and stroke the minerals onto your face in a downward motion to keep the fine hairs on your face settled.
